Weathering is…an incredible 20-minute film.

Written and Directed by Megalyn Echikunwoke, this short and captivating story is, and isn’t what you think.

A thriller? Yes.

Scary? Yes – but not in the way you think.

Riveting and emotional? Absolutely yes, but in ways I think only black women (or women in general), could understand or relate to on a deeply personal level because of the world we unfortunately live in.

This movie has a clear storyline from start to finish, you almost want it to be the predictable thing it is not. Each scene and development as you move through it with the main character, Gemina, (played by Alexis Louder), is well thought out and just enough for anyone watching to feel something, or at least be gasping for a breath of air as you’re pulled into Gemina’s world and want to ‘help her’ through it all.

This movie makes you feel many things in so many ways, all at once, and I think even more so if you are a black woman living anywhere.

As a #NoSpoilers space, I will end my review with this: For anyone needing a quick watch that feels like you’re racing through emotions that many women could relate to – this is a movie you absolutely must watch.

Scratch that. Woman or not, it is a must-see…and that’s on…๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ!

Shout out to the cast, (Alexis Louder‘s performance is absolutely top tier ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ). And thank you Megalyn for this impactful short film. Iโ€™m sure every black woman would agree.
